Mexico, like Columbia, is quite varied when it comes to landscape. Towards the center of the country are Mountains and canyons, while the South is home to desert land, and the East and South hold heavy rain forest. Mexico is also home sot a huge amount of flora and fauna. One of the reasons for this is Mexico's location. Situated between the equator and the Arctic circle, the country is the perfect place for animals escaping the hot of the north or the cold of the south. Gray whales take refuge in the water surrounding the country, while thousands of species find homes in the vast rain forest areas. The east coast of Mexico is filled with small mountain ranges that are rich in silver and copper, as well as other valuable metals. Mexico's first complex society appeared in the country in roughly 1200 B.C. They were the Omlec people. They were followed by more well known civilizations such as the Aztecs and Mayans.

The Mexican flag is made up of three equal blocks of colour: (from left to right) green, white and red. These colours represent hope, joy and love; peace and honesty; and bravery and strength, respectively. In the middle of the white section of the flag is a coat of arms, in which an eagle is shown on a cactus with a snake in its mouth.
